FREE LONGBOARD CLINICS AT CALGARY’S ROYAL BOARD SHOP
When: Every Wednesday @ 6pm (meet at the store at 5:45)
What: Learn the safety aspects of riding a longboard, plus, learn sliding, braking, drifting, pushing…LEARN IT ALL FREE!
You’ll need a helmet, your board, and thats it! Come out and have fun!
As many of you know, 2010 was a successful year with regards to our Longboard Clinics. We are hoping that 2011 is even better! Royal Board Shop in Calgary is proud to welcome you all to our Weekly Longboard Clinics. Like last year, every Wednesday we will gather at the store between 5:45 pm and 6pm, heading out shortly after 6 to some pathways not far from the store. It is our intention to teach you the most important aspect of the sport, safety. With that in mind, we require participants to wear a helmet, bring a Longboard & sign a waiver.
As these clinics are focused on beginners, we teach you the basics of longboarding such as learning to stop, push and ride properly. Of course we realize some people learn faster than others, so we also are happy to teach you the more advanced maneuvers such as sliding & cornering.
We would like to keep these clinics focused on teaching beginners so we encourage the more advanced riders to participate in the “Saturday Night Ride” that runs Saturday Nights from Higher Ground in Kensington at 9pm.
This year we are proud to welcome a few new instructors to the group as well as some returning instructors as well. This list includes Aaron Christensen, Paul Kent, Riley Harris, Jonathan Douglas, Phil Black, Anna O’Neil, and Taylor Clark.
We welcome boys and girls, men and women, couples and singles of ALL ages to participate in these clinics. As you’ll find out, they are an extremely fun way to learn a new sport, meet new friends, and find other people with the common interest of longboarding.
